About The Event
WHAT is the Giving Challenge?
The Giving Challenge is an exciting 24-hour online giving event that connects about 700 nonprofit organizations with passionate donors and community members to support diverse causes and create enduring impact in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties.
The Patterson Foundation continues to uplift the nonprofit sector in our region through the 2024 Giving Challenge. To strengthen giving throughout our community, The Patterson Foundation will contribute a 1:1 match for unique donations, up to $100 per donor, per nonprofit organization. There is no limit on the number of unique individual matches a nonprofit organization can receive.
WHY Sarasota High School Lacrosse Boosters?
SHS LAX Boosters, Inc. was founded in 2019 to support the creation and development of the Boys and Girls Lacrosse programs at Sarasota High School. In 2020 we fulfilled the requirements of the Sarasota County School District and Florida High School Athletic Association to officially establish the varsity lacrosse programs - including raising $80,000 through independent private fundraising activities.
The purpose of SHS LAX Boosters, Inc. is to support the Sarasota High School Lacrosse program by coordinating activities that encourage contributions of time, talent, and treasure from friends of Sarasota lacrosse. Contributions made to SHS LAX Boosters, Inc. go toward coaches’ salaries, equipment, uniforms, transportation, referee, and field rental. Every year, our efforts expose over 70 Sarasota High School student-athletes to the sport of Lacrosse.
At this time, the Sarasota County School board provides no financial support for Sarasota High School lacrosse. The SHS LAX Boosters, Inc. was organized to provide financial and logistical support with the goal of helping Sarasota High School develop a world-class lacrosse program without requiring a participation fee from the student athletes.
Your generosity allows the SHS LAX Boosters to fund the SHS LAX program and help participating athletes develop athletic, academic, leadership, and community involvement skills. The boys and girls of Sarasota High School Lacrosse sincerely appreciate your support!
